At Blue Seven, we're fortunate to work with and support businesses across a variety of industries. Every once in a while, we like to shine a light on a business that has made an impression on our team.

This month, we're featuring Haute Coffee in Concord, Massachusetts.

If you've ever stopped into Haute, you know it's more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee. It's the kind of neighborhood spot where customers are greeted by name, baristas remember regular orders, and people gather to connect with friends, family, and their community.

The story behind Haute Coffee began with a simple question:

"Why is there no good coffee around here?"

That question sparked an idea between founders Kimberly Scott and Rob. Drawing from backgrounds in hospitality, events, and customer experience, they set out to create a coffee shop focused on quality, consistency, and community.

Their coffee journey led them to Counter Culture Coffee, a partnership that continues today more than 13 years later. Along the way, they developed their own recipes, renovated the space largely themselves, and officially opened Haute Coffee in September 2013.

Like many small business owners, the path wasn't always easy.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Haute faced many of the same challenges experienced by small businesses across Massachusetts. At the same time, Rob was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 2021 after a nearly two-year battle.

In the years since, Kimberly has continued moving the business forward while honoring the legacy they built together.

Today, Haute Coffee remains a beloved part of the Concord community. Many of its original customers still visit regularly, and some of its earliest employees remain part of the team.

When asked what keeps customers coming back, Kimberly points to something that goes beyond great coffee and house-made baked goods.

"We know their name, and we know their order, but most importantly they are now friends and they are truly special to us."

That philosophy is reflected throughout the business. From carefully sourced coffee beans and house-made syrups to friendly service and genuine customer relationships, attention to detail is evident in every part of the experience.

For our team, Haute Coffee is a reminder of what makes small businesses so special. The strongest brands are often built through consistency, resilience, and a commitment to serving people well year after year.
